This is the last full week of the first marking period. If you are happy with your current grade, please continue working and submitting work to ensure you maintain that grade through the end of the marking period. If you are unhappy with your grade, now is your last opportunity to put forth increased effort. The best way to raise your grade is to complete all your assignments and turn them in by the due date.

This week students will complete the week 3 paragraph bellringer. This will be collected on Friday and will be worth 20 points.
Students will also be reviewing feedback from their explanatory essays this week. It is my hope that we will make this feedback meaningful and try to avoid making similar mistakes in the upcoming argumentative essay.
For the remainder of the week students will dive more deeply into the three different types of verbs. We reviewed action verbs last week, and will not look at linking verbs and helping verbs. Students will practice identifying and using these types of verbs.
