Week of November 6th

This is the first full week of Marking Period 2 and parents and students can look forward to grades on last week's test by mid-week. These tests will be the first major grade of the second marking period.

English 7
This week we are going to continue working with the memoir The Invisible Thread. You completed your first read of this excerpt on Friday after your test. Your goal on Friday was to identify the main characters, the primary conflict and the main idea from the excerpt.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday we are going to complete a second read as a class. During the second read, your goal is to gain a better understanding of the characters through the details you may have missed on your first read.

On Tuesday, we will spend time talking about narrative point of view with this reading and students should expect a short quiz on Thursday. Students will be expected to know the different types of narrative point of view and be able to identify them in excerpts.

As we read this week we will also be talking about our next part of speech, adjectives. Adjectives are words that describe nouns and we have a lot of them in this week's reading!
