All classes will be working on their research paper for the remainder of the month of November. Students in seventh grade will research disabilities in preparation for reading the novel Wonder in Mrs. Schlein's English Language Arts class. Students in eighth grade will research aspects of the Revolutionary War in preparation for reading the novel Chains in Mrs. Markiewicz's class. The schedule for writing the research paper is as follows:
Week of November 12th
Tuesday 11/13 and Wednesday 11/14: Research chosen topic
Homework: Read and annotate sources. Due: Thursday, 11/15
Thursday, 11/15: Create works cited
Friday, 11/16: Learn/review MLA style in-text and parenthetical citation
Week of November 19th
Monday, 11/19: write introduction paragraph of research report
Homework: Finish writing introduction paragraph
Tuesday, 11/20: write first body paragraph of research report, cite information correctly
Homework: Finish writing body paragraph 1
Thursday, 11/22-Monday, 11/26: Thanksgiving break
Week of November 26th
Tuesday, 11/27: write second body paragraph of research report, cite information correctly
Homework: Finish writing body paragraph 2
Wednesday, 11/28: write third body paragraph of research report, cite information correctly
Homework: Finish writing body paragraph 3
Thursday, 11/29: write conclusion paragraph
Homework: Finish writing conclusion paragraph
Friday, 11/30: revise, edit and print research report
Homework: Print research report
All research reports will be due December 7th, 2018 and will be completed using Google Docs.
